This page is the index to our legal documents, with a short plain-English guide to what each one does. Each linked document contains the full English text followed by its Polish version; for consumers resident in Poland, the Polish version is the controlling one.
The summaries on this page are a non-binding guide—they are NOT a contract. They exist only to help you find the right document and get the gist quickly. They are written in English only and are deliberately simplified. Only the full documents themselves are binding, and if anything in a summary here seems to differ from a full document, the full document governs. For consumers resident in Poland, the Polish-language versions at the bottom of the full documents are the controlling version (Ustawa o języku polskim, art. 7–8). For other users, the English versions govern.

By default, when you buy from us the seller of record is our Merchant of Record, FastSpring (Bright Market LLC dba FastSpring, 801 Garden St. #201, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, USA · EU VAT EU372017645), under FastSpring’s own Terms of Service and Privacy Notice. You may also buy through one of our worldwide distributors (then the distributor is the seller), and in special cases we license to you directly. Whoever sells, our documents below govern the product, licence, account, data, AI features, and Vexy Coins.

The gist of each (non-binding)¶
Terms of Service. The house rules for our websites, your FontLab account, and the FontLab Pass, plus how buying works. Your rights depend on whether you’re a consumer, a sole trader buying outside your profession (a “consumer-entrepreneur” treated like a consumer), or a business. Polish law applies, but if you’re a consumer you keep the mandatory protections of your home country and can use your home courts. Liability limits and “as is” wording apply only to business customers, and key protective clauses are built in tiers so that if one is ever found too strong, a slightly softer one still applies instead of nothing.
EULA. What you may and may not do with our software. You get a licence—we don’t sell you the software itself—and by default a single-user licence covers two devices. You fully own the fonts and designs you create. For consumers there’s a 2-year conformity guarantee (the whole term for subscriptions), and we provide the updates needed to keep the software working as it should. AI features are clearly flagged; purely AI-generated output may not be copyrightable; and we don’t train AI on your content without your opt-in. Business customers get an “as is” warranty with limits.
Privacy Policy. The personal data we handle (account, licensing, support, telemetry, AI inputs, marketing) and why, with a legal basis for each use. We are the controller; FastSpring is a joint controller for the sale. We keep data only as long as needed, use proper safeguards when data leaves the EU, and you can access, correct, delete, or port your data and complain to the Polish authority (UODO). The service isn’t for children under 16.
Vexy Coins Terms. Vexy Coins are a time-limited access licence to features inside FontLab and Vexy products: not money. They can’t be cashed out, sold, or transferred, and work only in our products. Subscription plans include an allowance that resets each period; separately purchased Coins are valid for 12 months.
Refunds & Withdrawal Policy. One place for what happens after you buy: your 14-day right to change your mind (and when that right is used up for instant downloads and activations), your separate statutory right to a product that actually works, how to cancel a subscription, the special rules for Vexy Coins, and how refunds are processed through FastSpring.
Cookies Policy. We only set non-essential cookies after you opt in, rejecting is as easy as accepting, and you can change your mind at any time. Strictly necessary cookies keep the site, sign-in, and checkout working. The policy lists the cookies we and our providers use and how data may travel outside the EEA.
Effect and updates¶
These are the current published terms governing our products and services. They are prepared under Polish and EU law and take effect on the “last updated” date shown on each document. We may update them as described in each document; the version published here is the one that applies.
