Q: I have FontLab Studio 5 and am trying to install FontFlasher 1 but the installation does not complete correctly. What should I do?
A: On Windows
- Open Windows Explorer and manually create the following folder: C:Program Files/FontLab/FontLab46/Macros/System/Tool
- Install FontFlasher
- Copy the file C:Program Files/FontLab/FontLab46/Macros/System/Tool/Pixel.py into the Macros/System/Tool folder inside of your FontLab Studio 5 folder (that's typically C:Program Files/FontLab/Studio5/Macros/System/Tool)
- Start FontLab Studio 5 and you should have access to the Pixel tool from the Macros toolbar
On Mac OS X
- Install FontFlasher
- When the FontFlasher installer asks you to choose the location of FontLab, choose Cancel
- After the setup is complete, copy the Pixel.py file from the FontFlasher folder (typically /Applications/FontFlasher ƒ/Pixel.py) into the Macros/System/Tool folder inside of your central FontLab Studio Library folder (typically [Your Startup Volume]/Library/Application Support/FontLab/Studio 5/Macros/System/Tool
- Start FontLab Studio 5 and you should have access to the Pixel tool from the Macros toolbar
Q: I want FontFlasher to open the pixelfont automatically in FontLab Studio 5 automatically. What can I do?
Make sure that FontLab Studio 5 is running, i.e. if it's not running, start it. If you have enabled Open font in FontLab, then FontLab Studio 5 needs to be already running when you click on the Start button in FontFlasher. Then, the font will automatically open in FontLab Studio.
